Clinical Supervision
For Marriage and Family Therapists
Supervision For MFT Licensure
Supervision should be more than a box to check on your way to licensure. It should be a transformative growth experience, one that invites you to explore your growth edges, understand how you affect and are affected by your clients, and build the foundation for ethical, empirically grounded clinical decision making. Just as strong therapeutic alliance is the foundation of all clinical work, I believe the relationship and trust between supervisee and supervisor is what creates the container for you to take risks, learn, and grow into a confident, ethical clinician.
My Approach Focuses On:
Understanding trauma’s impact through a systems lens, including its implicit and explicit imprint on developing nervous systems, its intergenerational reach, and its effects on individuals, families, and communities
Bringing a non-pathologizing, attachment-focused lens to client behavior and challenges
Self-of-the-therapist exploration, supporting you in identifying your strengths and growth edges
Strengthening your ethical decision-making and clinical responsibility, so you can think critically and uphold the highest standards of care
Helping you develop your professional boundaries and ethics
Supporting you in building a sustainable practice
What to Expect From Supervision With Me:
My approach is experiential, humanistic, client centered within an attachment and systems theory framework. I’ll encourage you to reflect on how your experiences, adversity, family of origin, and community have shaped, and will continue to shape, your clinical identity and work.
My goal is to offer you a safe, inclusive, nonjudgmental space to explore with curiosity how the person of you shapes your clinical presence and decision making, moment by moment, in the therapy room.
